Fresh Sushi, Excellent Service, Decent Atmosphere, Overall One Amazing Experience. There are Good User reviews about this place and decided about 3 – 4 months into the business this restaurant has settled in and is ready for a comprehensive review. Here it Goes.
The Soup: Seafood, was Fresh and Tasty with a Shrimp, Crabmeat, and some other delicious tasting seafood with vegetables cooked and freshly prepared to taste the flavour, Service at this point was TOP NOTCH.
The Meal: I had Sushi Platter (9pc Sushi & California Roll) The other had (Chicken Negimaki) WOW! The Chicken was wrapping the scallions cooked and looked like a Sushi but tasted like something that was amazing and never been tried before, The prep. was excelently served. On to the Sushi! Another WOW Factor, Keep in mind the sushi is at 50% off compared to many other places, the taste is 100% better. I felt the freshness of the Sushi, the preparation on the plate was another WOW.
The Dessert: I had fried Banana, had Ice Cream (Fried?) Both were a perfect end. One last thing, we were given a special to try (Sushi) before we left, can’t wait till they put that on the menu because that would have been another wow factor.
More Information: The place is BYOB (For Now, until December)

As everyone reading this blog already knows why we are slow with updating. (We are renovating and expanding operations) and will be on track very shortly.
Well anyways here it goes: Leona a Bakery Pizzeria, has homely atmosphere with couches that look straight from the house, nice and soft and small little T.V. For some reason I would think this can’t possibly work in a restaurant but when I have seen it I was impressed. It felt sort of like a living room. The Bar to the inner doors with a bakery stand further, The Bar is not an alcohol Bar, but would probably fit very nice over there and make the place much more then it is. This place featured outdoor dining on the Bay Street Strip, Litterly a one road down from the “Big Famous, WhereYouEat Sign” located on Tomkins and Fingerboard at the gogos deli. Worth a stop by, too bad the summer is over and it’s getting a bit colder…. (Menu Coming by Tuesday)
The Calamari Slice. Of Village Maria.
A Staff member of whereyoueat media company has been stopping by Village Maria http://whereyoueat.com/NY/StatenIsland/10308/TakeOut/VillageMaria.html and kept trying the calamari slice to see how consiistant they are. Here is the details: This slice is always available. We rate it Five Full Stars under the regular review. We are putting five stars under this review. This is by far the best slice of pizza “Specialty” That we have ever tasted, everybody from the Whereyoueat State Island crew (6 Employees) have tried this slice and hands down agree it is the best tasting consistent slice on Staten Island.
What we mean by Consistent: Many pizzerias have a wonderful slice available at a time, we try it, a few times it is good, a few times it is better, a few other times it is not there, not available, not as good. This pizzeria wins as it is always available, latest creation. Out of 57 Pizzerias tested, nobody else had a readily available calamari slice on hand with no wait (Other then the 2 minutes to warm up).
Whats Next: This restaurant will be presented with a WhereYouEat Award for the calamari slice.
Future Prizes: We have not seen a Shrimp slice or Lobster Slice yet? Do you know a pizzeria that makes this specialty? If so please type a comment in this blog, we will try it for one week straight, then everybody tries it and we will possibly add it to a Whereyoueat Review!!
For Now: Enjoy the Calamari Slice found at Village Maria, Nelson Avenue, Great Kills, Staten island, New York, 10308
This list was compiled by Whereyoueat Staff Members which went out on a pizza run after following much advice from neighborhood friends & co-workers.
This list does not neccessarily require a restaurant to be reviewed, as it is impossible to write a legit review for a simple takeaway.

Please do not worry. We have not Retired, Not just yet… We are actually in the process of developing a much more modern and easy to use website which will be coming very soon in the weeks ahead. We are still updating on the Back End with all menus being up to date as promised when we launched off, we are just not uploading on to a server as multiple testing is going on as we speak.
Please hold off, we understand many restaurants have closed but we are holding through this calm until we are updating to our new database driven website.
Suggestions for website or previews available if you e-mail Alex from Support & Relations of the company at Alex@whereyoueat.com

So what happened after Caravella Closed about a year ago? No one new until about 2 – 3 months ago when we seen a Sign saying “Island Grill” and many of you were excited and started e-mailing asking us what this restaurant will be, Well here we have it and it is finally open.
If any of you have visted the old restaurant, the atmosphere (NOT DECOR) has stayed the same, the Entrance with the bar to the Left (No Liquor Licence Yet), A few tables for a simple sit down. Then you enter the Party room or the Dining Room which used to have a lot of private parties and late night singers on Friday and Saturday nights with dancing spots.
Walk up stairs presents a great view on the second floor with not too many tables there (About 4 -5) but is nice little private getaway for a romantic dinner.

Now what changed: The decor – It is much lighter, brighter, easier feel then before. It uses Pink, Light green but somehow this works and makes it much more unique then other restaurants. This should make a great catered party events with an A La Carte menu.
What we Know: Cuisine is Russian, features Mediterannean and a Sushi Bar. Look’s very promising and we will stop by one day and try the food…
Please Remember: This is not a Review of “Island Grill” This is a simple “Whats New” and we let you know the grand openings

Sorry Staten Island we are a bit late on posting for Angelina’s Restaurant on Ellis overlooking the lake.

Angelinas: Now seems like the largest restaurant on Staten Island with 3 floors over looking water. The entrance has Red Carpet and makes you feel a bit elite walking up to the huge restaurant. The bar starts right in the beginning and then you can chose yourself a table right on the first floor or even chose to sit outside if it’s nice and warm or especially for lunch. Going upstairs brings wonderfull dining room for parties or larger crowds, but the thing that this restaurant hits it off really big is the “Outside Lounge”, This is just an amazing addition to the restaurant which allows you to just “Chill out and Relax” after your food, have some drinks or whatever else your in the mood…

Private catering parties are available upstairs (One more) 3rd Floor and looks greatly unique.

There is a negative about the location. The lake does not look well thought out and I have no clue who will be cleaning it. To clean up the back of the lake and make it look nice to look at will be a whole new project in itself and I don’t know if Angelina is up for doing that but if that somehow get’s done this will be just a perfect spot.

Anyways Staten Island, Enjoy this restaurant to it’s full potential, Parties, Catered Events, Private Dinners, Romantic Getaways
Please remember: This is not a Review of the Restaurants, this is filed under “What’s New” to show everyone latest grand openings on Staten Island
Please remember this is not a Restaurant Review – This is listed under “Whats New” for all the newest restaurant openings.

A long awaited wait… American Grill Closes – What would be Next?
Here it is Staten Island, The Indian Clove. An addition to two Indian Restaurants (Chirag & Taste of India) on Staten Island. This restaurant has the Bar Feature which the other two were not able to fit. On with the description… – The outside has a refreshing start, once you enter the building you are greeted by a pleasant “greeter”. You can look over to your right and see the tables and decor. Different type of atmosphere with a huge ceiling (High Ceiling). The bar which is further and sits on the opposite side of the tables, spans 75% of the full place. I noticed there is private seating available further towards the end of the restaurant, if you are interested in a romantic getaway for an hour… We are also glad to see some ethnicity getting on to the Island. Diversity is always a plus, The more different things we can have here, the less we would be leaving to go to Manhattan.
Parking seems easy, but also may get “Packed Out” if the restaurant gets crowded, it is located in back of the Restaurant, two stores down.
This restaurant is more on the Casual Side and has great potential to become a “Hot Lounge Spot” in the evenings if they decide to stay open a little bit later and serve “Bar Food”.

I will come and visit this place and try out the food, maybe hang out at the bar for a little bit. For now if I forgot to describe something please add a comment. If you have visited or tried this place add a review under the “Views & Reviews” Located on the Menu Page

Atmosphere:

Well Staten Island here it goes, We have a Great New Addition of another Fancy Italian Restaurant located right in the Heart of Staten Island on Hylan Boulevard, 1435 to Be Exact. This Restaurant replaces Bocca, The fresh outside start, great interior and the Great View from second floor that overlooks Hylan can be a pleasure on any evening.
The Walk-In + First Floor: Once you enter you have a nice looking bar straight ahead, This is where you can start to relax by having a drink either while waiting for a table or just getting the feel of the place. On the First floor the dining room is decent and seems like a good choice for Sunday Brunch. Yes we say decent because it’s nothing special compared to the Second Floor. Read Below.
The Second Floor: Now this is where the fun begins, You walk up through Box Style stairs and you enter the Dining Room. The way the Tables are Setup sitting next to the “Open in Glass” Wine Cellar. Which is such a fancy addition if you decide to eat in this room (Or Tables are Available here).

Second Floor Up-Step View: If you walk over to your left and up some stairs you will be surprised with what may be the main feature of this restaurant. The great view overlooking Hylan Blvd.

overall:With a Great View & a Great Open Wine Cellar, This will definitely be worth to check out. Looking at the menu the prices are very competitive.
Please note, This is not a Review of Cielo Restaurant. This is under the “What’s New” Section, to give everybody a feel of the Restaurant. If we ever Review it, it will be found under the “Restaurant Reviews” Section
Talay Thai Menu & Photo Location: Talay Thai
Bring Your own Alcohol.
OK many of you see Talay Thai on your way home or too work, but never had the time or curiosity to try a Thailand Cuisine. So we tried it for you (well we wanted too ourselves also). The atmosphere is nice and quite, feels sort of like a living room, It has a carpet too make it feel more warmer. The setting is very dim at first may be a turn off since it is a “Casual Restaurant” but after a few mins you get used to it.
The Girl: Who is the waitress is daughter of this family owned restaurant, which makes it much more desirable since she cares about the business and actually recommends something tasty.
The Food:I ordered the Talay Thai, I never seen so much preparation in a meal. This came out in a Duck Wrapped Foil. With seafood inside, Clams, mussels, shrimp…

If you go to the menu you will see what the Duck actually looks like. There sauce was the great part of the meal, I like spicy food and they had home made sauce which was red peppers and something else. It was delicious (Very Very Spicy, but I am like a dog. I start to tear from my eyes, yet still after that bite is down I take more hot sauce, I don’t know why?) Anyways It had those clear noodles and came with a side of Jazmin Rice. My girlfriend had the Duck, I took a bite, It was almost as good as my entree which came Chef’s Recommendations (To me of course, She liked the duck better) She did not even try mine though, doesn’t eat seafood!) OK enough about my personal problems… I forgot to mention that we had an Appetizers “Bags of Gold” That was nothing special to talk about, anyways there is a picture of it also on the Menu page.
The Follow up Report: I enjoyed this Restaurant to much the first time that I had very high expectations when I came back, For some reason it was not as good as the first. We actually had the same two meals, but did not enjoy them as we did the first time. I learned this in school must be the “Satisfaction Curve” or something like that, maybe it was the Consumption curve? Anyways the more you consume, the less it satisfied you. (Eco 212, I think?)
Overall: Do not take the Follow up report any serious please, I cam in at 9:30, when they were supposed to close at 10:00pm, So it is possible it was a little faulty on my end.
