Vida La Staten Island: A World Cuisine Culinary Food Reviewed

Well who could have possibility thought that once we got into the joy of writing restaurant reviews, we would find so many great places here on Staten Island.  Well, So many is not to say, but a few very good one’s and Vida is definitely part of this list.  First of, I must say this is only one of the few “Culinary” World food on Staten Island, that serves dishes that take long time to cook and a very long time to prepare.  Many meals that are served here take many hours and some are even prepared the day before and cooked over night.  The menu includes pork specials, Broiled pork, duck, chicken and the other various forms of food that we can consume.  Of course the way each is prepared is where the description can take place.  Well we have enjoyed Duck with little gold nuggets as an appetizer which adds delicatessen flavour to the entire meal with the home made “Sangria” right in front.

The Food is Truthfully hard to describe and the menu changes constantly (Which is the reason we did not put it up), but it is worth a try and we know you will be back for special occasions.  Although the good food may bring a bit of a negative to this place especially with all the out of townees visiting here this place can get a bit cramped, so its possibly not the greatest choice if you are planning for a quite getaway with a special loved one.  Enjoy it as it is great.

The Drinks: Absolutely Delicious

A Successful New Website Launch

We are finally in the second week of launching our new website User Interface.  We have received many support emails which we really do appreciate and are listening to your comments as well.  A few things we need to announce:

  1. Closed -> Does not mean the restaurant is permanantly Closed. It means it is “Closed, at this Hour” (Will change Image soon)
  2. First search is the main search which cannot be removed: You are able to narrow all searches from the appropriate category
You are also able to remove any search after narrowing using the little (x) marker.
  3. User Registration has a benefit: If you are a registered user, you can add Restaurants to “My-Favorites” and be able to access it in “Your Account” selecting “Favorite Restaurants”,  You are also easily able to view all Restaurants around you and see special announcements.
  4. Also when you are a Registered user and you”Add Reviews” they are recorded towards your account and we possibly may reward in the near future.

In general the website is up to speed like we have hoped and everything seems to work, but as we all know every new software may have a few bugs that still need to be taken care and removed.  If there is anyway we can make your browsing experience more friendly, please let us know.  Thank You.

We have stopped posting to the blog for about 2 weeks but work has been continueing at the Whereyoueat Media Station.   Be patient, we have many reviews and restaurant news coming soon in the next two weeks to make up of everything we have missed.  But on a special note: We have recently redesigned WhereYouEat.com and have been vigirously inputting data and working out the bugs to make a fine browsing experience for our visitors.  You can still continue to rely on us to bring you the latest restaurant information and grand openings on this blog which we will start posting again 2nd week of March.

New Site: Please preview the new website: http://www.whereyoueat.com/Staten%20Island.htm and you may as well create “My Account”, to allow for even a smoother browsing experience.  We have now included new and more comprehensive search option (Name, Restaurant Type, Cuisine, Price Range, Special Features, Services Offered) you can also see “Who’s open now” and even “Who has Coupons”.  Our narrow search feature is now extremely advanced and allows for multiple narrow searches to find just what you are looking for.

Also please remember to begin changing your Menu Bookmarks as our old site pages will soon be removed (probably by April).

Anyways please let us know how you feel about the new website and Suggestions/Comments please use the (Contact Us) form located at the top of the site.
