Grand Opening of Sushi Pronto on Staten Island has happened on Wednesday April 28th.
This is a Half Price sushi joint replacing the old Chapo’s Restaurant located across from the Pathmark shopping plaza.  Sushi Pronto is a Dine in and Delivery Japanese Restaurant.

The number of visitors on WhereYouEat has went up a staggering 50% since last month.  During this tremendous growth we have experienced a lot of server issues and errors by having too many users on at a single time (For which our basic server can handle).  Since so many more people are searching for where to dine out, either through Search Engines or come Directly to the site this can tell us that the dining scene is in recovery phase.

Even though we understand that our traffic spurts and restaurants start to get busy again during this season and from our history we have been experiencing a 12% growth during the summer time, we have never expected a huge jump.  We are very happy to see this and will continue to work daily to better serve the community, environment and local business.

Joe’s of Avenue U

Jeo’s of Avenue U opened it’s doors late in April 2010, Located in Great Kills section of Staten Island and is replacing the “Amboy Diner”.  The restaurant is Italian Cuisine which is serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The building is Stand Alone in the Pathmark shopping plaza.

We have received numerous comments and requests as to when this establishment will open, here it is.

Puglia the Restaurant is located in Great Kills, 10308 in Staten Island is now opened.

Randazzo’s

Randazzo’s an Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria opening in Tottenville section of Staten Island.  This restaurant is replacing Gentile’s with a uplift to the establishment and Outdoor Dining.
The bar located at the entrance, 2 dining rooms (One larger than the other) and outdoor dining.

Restaurant Updates and Openings

Leidy’s Shore Inn has opened their kitchen last Wednesday, La Nana Spanish restaurant on Lafayette avenue has been added to our database, Pepe’s pizzeria menu has been updated, City View Grilling and Greens serves Breakfast and Lunch also added, Randazzo grand opening replacing Gentiles also listed as we write our Walk-Around, Milo and Sons pizzeria opened on Henderson Avenue.

Whereyoueat Back Up

Our site is restored to it’s March 25th Database and all missing restaurant information has been added back into our database.
If you were registered for a WhereYouEat Account in the past 2 weeks, please know that your registration was lost as well as User Reviews, Restaurants added to Favorites Drawers and Try Lists.  We have tried to regain this data, but are just not able to.

We will now conduct Daily DB Backup and Bi-Monthly File backups to prevent this from happening again.

Website down

WhereYouEat has experiencing website Database outages for 6 Hours on Monday April 12, 2010 and is currently still down on Tuesday April 13th.
Please know that we are aware of the issues and are working non-stop to bring this service back up again.

There may be some data lost, here are the Details.
About 50 latest Registered users from the past two weeks may be gone.  We are working to save all information, but it is possible  that we may not be able to.
Latest added Restaurant Reviews, Restaurants added to Favorite Drawers and Try lists (For 2 weeks) would be gone also.

In the unfortunate case if we are unable to restore the data for the last two weeks, the following restaurants would need to be updated.

Quiznos Closed in Great Kills

That’s the latest user reported news: Quizno’s in Great Kills closes unexpectedly.  And we were just thinking the economy is starting to pick up, after last month of talking to many Restaurateurs, the feedback is becoming more positive.
