Continuing Updated on the North Shore

With about 75% of all North Shore restaurants menu updates complete, we will be able to officially report what has closed early next week.
As of this week the following menus have changed and have been updated.

We will list the following by Cuisine Type, Click on the Restaurant Name to view the Updated Listing with Menus.

Chinese Restaurants on The North Shore: (All Chinese Restaurants on Staten Island)

• May Flower:  Your simple take-out and Free-Delivery.  Menu Price increased.
• Jiang Restaurant:  Neighboring the previous Chinese Restaurant, located only 1 block away.  Also only offers Take-Out and Delivery.  Menu Price has increased.
• Jade Garden:  Another Chinese Take-Out and Delivery place.  Menu Price increased.
• D &B Chinese Double:  Offering a different type of Set Dinner Specials for $29.99 (Good for four people).
• Diamond Forest:  Also your basic Take-Out and Delivery Chinese restaurant.

Indian: (All Indian Restaurants on Staten Island)

• Dosa Garden:  This Restaurant has received numerous Raving Reviews all over the internet and the local paper.  Serving Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian, Prepared by specially trained chefs from Chettinad, India.  Dishes are all prepared with Halal Meat.  Menu Price Increased.

American: (All American Restaurants on Staten Island)

• Lacey’s Bridge Tavern:  With family style dining (Large Portions meant to be shared), this tavern is a Staten Island Favorite for many years and has received many awards.  With delicious tasting meals, great prices and service, Lacey’s Bridge Tavern is listed as a Hot-Spot on WhereYouEat. Minor Changes in the Menu Price.
• Elm Park Inn:  Lunch, Dinner and Express Lunch Menus have been updated.  This restaurant also offers Free Delivery and is a Participating of Dine Out Against Hunger 2011.
• Against Da Grill:  Also serving daily specials, breakfast served all day and offers delivery.  Received minor price increase.
• Afternoones Restaurant: The take-out menu has been updated but they stated the prices were the same as dine in.

Mexican: (All Mexican Restaurants on Staten Island)

• El Lobito Loco:  It’s original location has finally received it’s menu on the directory.  Offering Free Delivery to the North Shore.
• Las Jarochitas:  Now under new Management with a new menu.

Pizzeria: (All Pizzeria Restaurants on Staten Island)

• Cafe Milano:  Is going through a full renovation of their dining room, they are still open for business.  We will update photos as soon as they finish their renovation.  Menu has been updated.

Dosa Garden

Dosa Garden is an Indian Cuisine located in Staten Island.  They are in the Price range of 2-pricing, which is the entree’s are in $12-$18 range and appetizers are under $10.  They have a Prive Parking Lot.  The restaurant Accepts Credit Cards, is very Casual and offers local delivery and take-out as well as dine-in service.  They do accept reservations, but usually they are not necessary (especially during the weekdays).  At this time they do not offer Alcohol and have not obtained their restaurant Liquor License.

Menu Features that the food is prepared by Specially Trained Chefs from Chettinad, India.   They serve lunch-specials from 11:30am to 3:00pm, Vegetable starts at $12 and Non-Vegatable is $15.
The complete menu features Soups, Vegetarian Appetizers, Meats, Fish, Shrimp and Shrimp Fry.  They also feature a Dosa Specials such as ‘Thin Rice’, Spicy Chutney Spreaded in thin rice, Lentels, Chrispy Wheat and More.

The rest of the menu is made up of Biryani Specials, Fresh Breads, Curries, Tandoori, Sri Lankan Specials and Indo-Chinese.   All Dishes are prepared with “Halal” meat.

North Shore Staten Island Updates

We are comprehensively updating North Shore these few weeks and have a few openings, closings and changes to report.

Grand Openings:

• Mr. Rice on Port Richmond, located on Walker Avenue has just opened up.  It is a Chinese Cuisine, Take out and Delivery with some traditional Chinese ‘Soup’ on the menu.  The menu features you basic Chinese Food Fare, Lunch Specials, Combos and the rest.
• Gyrolicious also opens up on Port Richmond, located on Bennett Ave.  If you remember the previous restaurant ‘Harrah’s’ at the same location and similar cuisine.  Serving Breakfast and Lunch, Gyro’s, Burgers, Egg Sandwiches.  They offer Delivery and Curb-Side pick-up.

New Listings:

• Mandarin House,   Not sure how we missed this place, but it is finally added to our Database.  Menu, Photos and All.

Closings & Changes:
(These are not 100% Confirmed, but we were aware that some have been closed for a while, they will be removed after 2-week follow up of closing to make sure they are not just closed for vacation, violation or any other reason).

Restaurants with Coupon search added

We have improved the way Restaurants that have savings, discounts and other coupons.  These restaurants are now searchable from the front city page using the link on the right that says “View restaurants with savings” and by using the Features Tab looking for ‘Coupons’.   We also have improved the way the “-> Coupon Inside”, is displayed on the listings results pages.  We will now highlight these with Yellow-Markings.  We have also added additional linking inside the restaurant page, restaurants that have discounts or printable coupons now have a link right under their phone-number that states to “View-Coupons”.   The ‘Print’ button is located at the bottom of the coupon and will print on a seperate sheet with no other markings except for the coupon.

We hope this makes finding where to eat and $ave on Staten Island a bit more easier.
