The Staten Island restaurant directory has just become much more powerful than ever.
Now you can search restaurants that serve your favorite food items. In the mood for something unique such as ‘Rabbit’? Finding restaurants that offer the item on the menu is as simple as clicking ‘Menu Item Search’ in header navigation and typing in the food item, we will search all menus on Staten Island and display a list of all restaurants that have that specific food item.
Since we recently launched that item, about 30 unique visitors daily are using that feature to find food items, unfortunately we are still busy typing out all menus, adding about 15 new menus to our searchable portion daily. We plan to have all menus on Staten Island typed out and completed by the end of October.
What it means for you?
In addition to great fulfillment of finding you favorite meal, we are now capable of offering our service to visual readers for users who are visually impaired. We left out the prices due to many factors, one being that it’s impossible to keep text menus up to date with as often as menus change, scanning menus are done on an operative basis, but manually having to edit price of each menu every time it changes can simply become a daunting task. So for prices, please switch over to the Menu tab.
This always improves the way WhereYouEat attracts visitors through search engines, Google users can now search for menu items and add Staten Island, if we have that listed on one of our restaurant pages, you will find that listing through the search results.

Staten Island Restaurants Advertising has improved

As we continue to improve the way local business advertisers through targeted sponsored links, we have some new changes and additions that we have launched last week which has passed our quality assurance for visitors and sponsors.
What’s improved?
We have added a Restaurant Profile system which allows our sponsors to display an about us message or detailed information about their restaurant. This helps the visitors connect to the restaurant by hearing what they have to say about themselves or seeing a special promotion. This also helps the restaurant portray themselves to our hungry visitors and explain more about their establishment before the diner ever enter the place.
We have also added some social sharing features, at this point we are keeping this feature only for our sponsors and helps spread the listing in terms to their friends using Google+, Facebook and Twitter. A Restaurant listing page can now go viral with one click and is spread across the visitors full network of friends, family and co-workers. Some sponsors are already seeing over 50+ likes and Plus+1′s and twitter has yet to catch on. When you like a restaurant, remember to click the like, helps spread the like to your friends.
Another great option that we have added for restaurants that sponsor their listing is a unique Search Engine keywords which deeply penetrates position of their restaurant for certain terms that the restaurant is unique for. For example if a restaurant has “Happy Hour”, we would add that through their page so when visitor searches for Happy Hour on Staten Island, their listing would come up to the top or as close as possible for that term.
Our advertising has also improved by displaying more high targeted ads on Free Listing (non-self-sponsors) which now displays three targeted ads through text as well as the main banner header sponsor. The system works miracles by targeting specific restaurants to display targeted ads which visitors clearly love. Looking for a local pizzeria, now you can see a few nearby restaurants offering special deals and promotions, single click gets you to their restaurant page where you can see their specials, menus, photos and complete details.

We have two new (recently new?) restaurants opened in the St George Section of Staten Island.
A Chinese Restaurant and Buffet called Spring, serving all you can eat buffet for $7.95. The place is kind of small with a small selection, especially for a buffet. A place that specializes in Buffet such as ‘King Buffet’ where the traffic is larger creates more fresher food. The selection is small, hopefully the traffic keeps up so they can continue to make fresh food.

Another grand opening, right across the street is a restaurant named Bronkito, Pizzeria and Mexican cuisine all in one which is open late and offers delivery to the neighborhood. We are all used to seeing Pizzeria’s with Italian Kitchen, it’s what makes Bronkito unique by serving Authentic Mexican cuisine with your favorite Mexican Sandwiches, Tortas and Tacos. Where else can you have tacos when ordering your pizza? Is it good? Check out user ratings and the menu: Bronkito Restaurant Staten Island

Brick Oven Pizza Staten Island

Staten Island and Pizza, it makes people go crazy, you agree? When we sampled out the topic and post ‘Favorite Pizza on Staten Island’ on a main facebook page, guess what happens? Everyone gets involved to plug in their favorite local pizzeria.
What happens when there is a little twist, and we search for Staten Island’s favorite Wood Burning Brick Oven Pizza? Only a few main contenders can involved, only a few pizzeria’s across the borough use wood to cook the pizza and the taste is great.
We’ll focus this article on a neighborhood classic, located in Rosebank section we have Tony’s Brick Oven pizza which seems to be loved by many, after a post of the similar question on the main facebook pages, Tony’s came up the most times out of any other pizzeria on the island.
So our team went to check out what’s good at this eatery and we were very surprised on what we found.
The atmosphere was very casual and friendly, easy place to stop in and sit down for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Tony’s serves beer and wine as well as provides some table service. The menu and awning states that Tony’s is a Pizzeria, Trattoria Italiana with Mouth watering Italian Specialties. Overflowing Hot & Cold Sandwiches. Delicious Calzones & Rolls.
The counter displays many delicious specialty slices which you can tell are just fresh out of the oven, some places just make it look so good and this neighborhood pizzeria sure is one of them.
The Brick Oven Pizza is right on the menu and prices are slightly higher than when it’s cooked in a regular oven, reason is bundles of wood cost more than gas, but the taste is well worth it. Have you ever barbecued your burger at your camp site? Tasted the difference, well it’s the same for pizza, it just cooks better, tastes better and even sounds better.
Margherita, Quattro Stagioni, Capricciosa, Puttanesca, Vodka Sauce, White Pie, Contadina, Clams, Personal Pie, La Folle, Primavera is all served from the wood burning brick oven. A personal pie which is 4 slices at $10.50 is a tipping point of price, but it’s worth it, every bite.
Tony’s Brick Oven also serves regular pizza, Stuffed Pies, Pizza Pan Pies, Baked Dinners, Stromboli’s and Calzones. A Huge collection of Hot Sandwiches fills up the menu with items like Veal, Sofia, Chicken Cutlet, Cheesesteak Sandwich, Peppers & Eggs. The Cold Sandwiches feature items like the Italian Combo. Appetizers & Salads, Pastas, Seafood Specialty menus, Entrees like the Chicken Adriatico which is served with Ziti, Linguine or Penne or substitute pasta for a side of veggies.
Locals also love their Outside-Off-Premise Catering, Which gives you a choice of 4 items plus bread for $13.95 a person. Items that you choose from are Eggplant Parmigiana, Ham and Pineapple, Mini Rice Balls, Stuffed Shells, Veal and Peppers, Mussels, Calamari and more.
Another fascinating item we discovered on their menu was the “Over-Stuffed!” Delicious Cold Platters & Heros, available as 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 Foot! Remember your one day notice as it takes time to prepare this type of food.
And before we take you to the menu, this is the message from Tony’s All Items are Made Fresh to Order. Delivery time is usually 30 to 45 minutes. Please be patient, we will provide our superior service to every customer. WE appreciate your patronage and look forward to pleasing you.
