A successful concept originally known as PK’s Under the Bridge deep in the south shore has opened up a new location closer to Richmond Avenue. Known as PK’s Cafe at the address of 1281 Arthur Kill Road, with an exceptional promise from the owners to bring the same quality and feel they originally created to the new area. PK’s Cafe is still in the works of continuing renovations as they plan to add a lounge area and give this establishment a more of a trendy feel. The new colors are a pleasure to be around, burgundy red gives it a total new feel over the previous comfort diner’s teal? Of course these are just opinions, but we hear the food at PK’s has always been good.
The new large menu features everything from breakfast around the clock to items like the Quesadillas, Calamari served all various styles, Unique Clubs such as the Cajun Chicken, Tasty sounding Salads like the Atrium, Kyle’s Piles and the Country, Full Wraps menu, Sandwiches, Burgers and Panini’s. Steaks, Chops and Meats is also on the menu with Pot Roast which is the Tender Braised Brisket served with Mashed Potatoes or you can enjoy the Pulled BBQ Pork, Braised Short Ribs and even Rib Eye Steak which comes with potato and Spinach.
So we have a lot to look forward to.

Also part of the Staten Island Pizza Tour, Restaurant on the Plaza is a local tradition in the heart of New Dorp, located on New Dorp Plaza. What is it on Staten Island where each neighborhood has it’s own little longest established pizzeria that makes it a gem?
Restaurant on the plaza is not only a small pizzeria with really good meaty pies including the sausage and pepperoni which is one the best specialty slices with those meats that we had in long time, Restaurant on the Plaza is a also a full service restaurant located in the back of their main ‘Pizzeria’ where you can enjoy a full kitchen like the pasta, items from the grill, side orders, appetizers and even omelets. Dinner specials include Picatta, Marsala, Calamari, Ziti and a full selection of Dinner Specialties which are served with bread and a side order of pasta or salad.
Notes about this place: Restaurant on the Plaza also offers free online ordering and let’s you save 10%, look for the link in their restaurant profile.

Even though our original pizza tour was discontinued, we still kept the section that lets us review the local pizzeria’s. Here we have a local gem, that’s been part of the grant city community since 1989; John’s Pizza and Catering located at their same original location has evolved from a only pizza joint to a full service restaurant. Reviews about John’s pizza is booming, things like people say “Delicious Pizza in Grant City”. John’s is also a supporter of local events, charities for school, they are the first one’s to say they are in and do their best to make it good, which is actually very good. Their pizza is one of the favorites in Grant City. We have a few like the new Prego Pizza or the well long established Nunzio’s and La Rocca’s but the reviews and the customer loyalty for John’s Pizzeria is extravagent. Try it and you will see why everyone is a fan.
A few things to know: John’s offers a special from Monday – Wednesday where a large pie is $10

Prego Pizza

First there was Crispy Pizza, then Fratelli’s, then Original now we have a new grand opening of Prego Pizzeria at the 2224 Hylan Blvd location. The interior look remains very similar since it’s total renovation when Fratelli’s owned this place. With previous owners driving the business to the ground, serving crusty pizza without any kind of specials, we are very happy to see some specialty slices for the area. We tasted the regular slice and it somewhat reminded me of that Bensonhurst Brooklyn taste, it was pretty good. Also on display they have many specialty which look delicious.
Check out the menu for Prego Pizza on Staten Island here
Prego pizza also gives a Grand Opening special of Large Pie for $8, available for pick-up only. Also listed on the website is a few coupons and this establishment offers Free Delivery and has a catering menu listed. Like it or tried this restaurant? Give them a review on the page.
Zeke’s Roast Beef

Now located at the previous place of Ziggy’s, Zeke’s is originally from Staten Island. Zeke’s roast beef is probably the only restaurant that specializes in Roast Beef in Bay Ridge. Sure you can go almost any diner or American place and get a roast beef, but that’s what Zeke’s does best!

A little about the establishment, it is neat and clean, modernly tasty and a pleasure to eat in. We had the opportunity twice to try one of their sandwiches which we had with onions and it was very tasty, somewhat that ‘melt in your mouth’ tasting, not soggy, just that good, somewhat like that fall off the bone ribs. It really is worth a try, especially for the price.
Zeke’s also offers Free Delivery to almost the entire Bay Ridge Brooklyn Area, $10 min and they even offer catering right on their menu.
If you have any comments, reviews please leave them on the restaurant page above.
