Jamdung Restaurant and Bar – Staten Island’s only officially opened Caribbean / Jamaican cuisine is finally here!  The restaurant keeps a real lively mood interior with bright colors and hand made furniture (or so we are made to believe), but it’s a really comfortable open bright and airy atmosphere with great decorations of Bob Marley and other island style Jamaican feeling antiques around the restaurant.

The restaurant is currently open for Lunch and Dinner – with lunch menu being very similar to dinner but a lower price point. Delivery is not yet available, even though the menu states so.  Okay so what can you get here?  JERK CHICKEN! Chicken Marinated in a Traditional Jamaican House Made Jerk Sauce, cooked over open flame atop a pimento wood!  That’s right, we think even though a few other places mentioned recently they have or will be having Jerk Chicken, this is the only we can officially say, has it on the menu.

Other items do include Braised Oxtails, Curried Chicken, Curry Chicken Roti, Curry Goat, Veggie Roti and Wings of course.   Check it out for yourself as the restaurant is open 7 days per week and lunch entree’s seem to be in the $7 – $10 range while dinner is $14 – $16.
