After a 12 year run, Sushi Excellent, the spot that was famous around Staten Island and especially in New Dorp has suddenly closed it’s doors.  The message posted on their Facebook page reads

“To all our friends:

We regretfully inform you that we will be permanently closing our doors on Sunday April 26 2015. To our friends, customers and community we would like to thank you from the bottom our hearts for your support and patronage throughout our 12 year run and making us a part of your family. It was truly a pleasure serving New Dorp and the greater Staten Island community.

The new restaurant that replaces Sushi Excellent is Oishi Sushi, new management and new menu prices with a bit larger selection than just Japanese cuisine.

Sushi Excellent became known in the community more especially after renovating the upstairs rooftop and creating a lounge where they ran various comedy nights years ago.  They were known for being a Fusion Lounge where you can get some crispy duck salad as well as rolls while enjoying various entertainment.
