Shaggy’s Cheesesteak brings authentic Philly steaks to the Island.  A quick meet with the owner and we come to a conclusion that it’s something we need to try!  Authentic bread will be ‘imported‘ from Philly.  Choose 6″ and 9″ from various Shaggy’s Sandwiches which offer Italian heroes (Hoagie’s) to Old school Philly style sandwiches.  Interesting menu offers different style of Steak Sandwiches (New York and Philly) Styles. The Philadelphia style will be served with Thinly Sliced Rib-Eye steak on Real Philadelphia Bread and the New York will be with Thinly sliced Sirloin Steak on Real New York Bread.

Shaggy’s Burgers are stated to never been frozen beef patties, served 2 patties per order with choice of cheese in the middle.

Seaside Turkish Restaurant Walk-Around (Pre-Opening)

The new restaurant located right after the entering Staten Island has had it’s Pre-Grand Opening (Soft Open) to the public last week and we were able to pick up there (Preview-Menu and got some photos for this Walk-Around). Seaside has not celebrated there Grand Opening as of article publishing, but will be sometime this week.

Only another restaurant offering Turkish Cuisine on Staten Island  and such a low diversity of ethnic restaurants brings us another option to the table when dining out (or in) locally.  Seaside Turkish Restaurant offers many traditional Turkish foods such as Lamb Adana, Lahana Sarma, Kuzu Incik and the more known as Humus and Baba Ghanoush, Lamb Shwarma and some Seafood dinners.  For the full menu, you can always take a look at there Menu Page.

Walk-Around:Situated in a very prominent location which attracts thousands of passersby on this main street of Staten Island, having a nice attractive decorated exterior which lights up the night brightly and makes that corner stand out.  Parking lot available in the back (side) of the restaurant, conveniently places this restaurant in a hard to miss and hard to pass by.
Enteringthe place produces us in a nice clean environment which is decorated to be so.  At the right side we have a bit of a “Pizzeria” style counter which displays an open half kitchen offering a show of how the gyro’s are prepared, cut and placed. Seaside has two dining room areas with a Bar situated right in the center, sort of trying to separate each room in a way that puts some excitement when walking by.  The Bar is designed very neat but does not offer the dine at bar feature as it is somewhat too small to sit.
First Dining Room: Clean and simple setup with a nice neon lights set-up in the wall that change colours every so often which can make for a very pleasant ambiance, especially in the evening. This area points towards the boulevard and seems to be a bit more lively as the take out place is right in the front.  The other dining room is situated in a more private area from the take out, making it feel as a good location to have a private party.

Grand Opening Walk Around Genki Sushi

We apologize for the late posting on this restaurant.

Genki Sushi has replaced Daito about 1 month ago.  The management of this place has redesigned most of the interior and added a very nice walk in with wine bottles and a beautiful huge fish tank (No Fish Yet?).  Like most new “Sushi” places, Genki Sushi offers the 50% off on Sushi, Sashimi and Rolls.  This seems like a great addition to the Village Green Shopping Center on Arden.  We took the photos during the day and had to wait for a few tables to leave.  We wish them lots of luck from Whereyoueat.com.
