A Grand Opening (May 16, 2010) in the South Shore section of Staten Island brings a new Japanese Fusion restaurant. Ice is the flavor, the concept of this design is unique and delightful. Upon entrance, the ‘Freeze’ Stands out, A Sushi Island with ice style tables plants real ice boxes in the corners.

Featuring a Sushi Island with a dining area in the same room, Closed in dining during the winter, a Bar and Lounge area.

Entering the restaurant: Sushi Island is the first noticed seating area. The dining room right behind it offers a very crisp feel and great, comfortable design for dining at any time of the day. Another room features dining area and seems to open for outdoor dining. The Bar and Lounge area is presented extremely well, the Bar actually features aqua moving with pressure inside the table (Can be seen from the photo), a very modern trend which we haven’t seen on the Island before.

Updates this Week

Finishing off this week, here’s some news:

• Tre Amici pizzeria has now been re-opened by new owner “Paul’s Pizza and Pasta”.  View the restaurant menu and photos on Paul’s Restaurant in Staten Island page.
• Takayama Sushi on Page avenue is in soft opening stage for friends and family, hopefully next week we can list their grand opening as well as include photos and menus from the establishment.  The listing page is already up:  Takayama Staten Island Restaurant.
• Il Pomodora closed and reopened right away under a new name “Bella Italia”: View Bella Italia Restaurant in Staten Island.

Newsletter System is Functional

Dear Visitors, we must apologize for Bulk Sending of emails while we were testing our newsletter system.  It is now functional and works like it is supposed to.  There are many benefits of Registering for the Newsletter and you can find the Registration system on every city main page.  Registering is a simple process and lets you select your City and Zip Code so we are able to deliver news that fits around you, Local Restaurant news.

When you let us know which Zip Code you are located in, and a New restaurant opens up in your area we will deliver that straight to you, no need to fill up your email space with stuff that you are not interested in.  Although if you are planning on traveling outside of your area you can always check the scoop.

Against Da Grill New Location

Against Da Grill has moved to a new location and is finally open for business with a great unique style and improved menu.
We will be doing a walk-around next week and adding photos of the Restaurant.

Local News Brings 2 Restaurants Added

We have recently been informed that the Bootleg Manning’s bar also offers a mini Board Menu.  This is Bar Food style and we had to take shots of the menu board.
Also on a Grand Opening note: Walk-around coming soon, we have Buddha Lounge.  Not to ruin the Walk-Around but the place is really wonderful.

Latest Local Restaurant News

Great kills has a new pizzeria (Hopefully this place does the same style pizza as the original “Il Pomodoro”), which was actually listed as a Hot Spot on Whereyoueat for the “Thin Crust” pizza.  Il Pomodoro Menu and Photos  Also in Great Kills, We have noticed a huge Black and White sign on amboy road, that reads “Puglia, Coming Soon” right in the new plaza that is still being built and populated. 

Looking toward the other side of the Island, we have a new Hookah Bar Cafe which has just opened last week: 101 Cafe (photos are coming soon of this establishment), In the Dongon Hills Area we have a restaurant that is supposed to be opening in a few weeks (Voila Cafe: belongs to the Italian Cuisine), in Annadale we finally have a restaurant replacing the original Angelina’s, San Marco seems to the name and should be opening some time this month (August).

The website WhereYouEat has been experiencing a few minor difficulties. Please do not worry about these as we have just updated the site and cleaning up the bugs, hopefully all problems will be fixed this week.
