As Darina Cafe abandoned this location after storm Sandy and moved it’s way to Sand Lane, this left an open location for the restaurateur. Verrazano grill opened last week with a Russian/Mediterranean cuisine feel serving items such as Greek Salad, Norwegian Salad and Duck Salad. Appetizers include the standard Assorted Pickled Vegetables, Beef Tongue and Salmon Crepes. The main entree’s included home cooking goods such as Lamb Shank and Pork Schnitzel. Braised Short Ribs can be had for $14, Chilean Sea Bass served with Honey Soy Sauce for $22 and other seafood dishes include Salmon Burger, Soft Shell Crabs, Salmon Steak and Grilled Branzini.
Verrazano Grill stands along other restaurants with similar cuisine all within walking distance – Cafe Gourmand also recently re-opened after Sandy and Sorry Babushka is located right on Hylan Blvd (about a 15 minute walk). Neat environment is what can be said for this restaurant featuring Orange and Dark Blueish colors.
