Bab Marrakech opens in Bay Ridge

A brand new Moroccan Restaurant opens in the heart of Bay Ridge.  It’s a casual style open dining with a kitchen located right in the center of the restaurant.  In the back there is a more formal dining experience available for a small party or a few lounge style seating spots.

On the menu you can find most traditional platters and appetizers as well as soups.  Harira is a traditional Moroccan Soup with tomato sauce, lamb, lentils and chickpeas which can be had for $3.50.  For the same price you can choose other soups including the Lentils, Bissara a Pureed Fava Beans soup and a Loubia a steamed white beans soup with a Tomato Base.

The salads also very affordable at $5.00 includes a selection of the House Famous Salad a dish made with Romaine Lettuce, chopped tomatoes, cucumber sand green olives with vinaigrette. Sandwiches and Platters at Bab Marrakech give a wide selection of all different kinds of meats and vegetables.  For $7 a Sandwich and $12 a plate you get a choice of items such as Lamb Kebabs, Chicken Kebab, Kefta, Merguez a Moroccan Sausage and Kidneys or Liver.

Entree’s include options like the Chicken M’kelli a braised chicken dish made with onions, garlic and saffron served with homemade preserved lemon and imported Moraccan Olives.  Available also are Lamb SHank. Lamb Tagine and Chicken Tagine.

Specials for Friday Night include the Lamb Couscous.  This restaurant is also a bakery and offers Moroccan Pastries such as Almond Cookies, Sellou, Almont Briwat, Fekkas with Almont and Msemmen with Honey.
