Grand Opening: Hunny’s Jamaican Fusion

By In Brooklyn, Grand Openings

Quality, Flavorful and Unique is what the tag line reads below Hunny’s and I can vouch it smells outstandingly delicious inside the little take out restaurant.  Oh many habaneras being chopped away and ready to be sauteed right in front of me made my mouth drool (I love spicy  food!!).  So Hunny’s is a Jamaican/Jerk Chicken place and it seems they have some great recipes and excellent chefs (I can’t vouch for the food, but from what I saw when taking those photos, it looks like it would be very tasty).

Okay the menu offers your standard Oxtail, Curry Goat, SHrimp, Chicken, Stew Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Stew Pork, Coconut Salmon, Curry Salmon… All go for the price of $7/8 to $9 for a large, served with Rice or a Plantain and a salad.  Selection of Soups include Red Peas, Chicken, Beef, Cow Foot and Conch.  Roti is served at Hunnies and goes for $3.50 for the Pumpin Puri up to $9 for the oxtail.

Breakfast is served and it’s not your standard eggs, items such as Ackee and Saltfish, or Okra and Saltfish, Callaloo and Saltfish, Liver, Kidney are all served with Yam, Banana and Boiled Dumpling.  Breakfast can be had for $6 – $8 depending on the size and selection.   Sides, Omellettes and all day specials as well as Rasta Pasta are found on the menu.
