By In Brooklyn, Grand Openings

A bakery, restaurant and cafe opens up at Gowanus section of Brooklyn.  Runner Stone located at 285 3rd Ave, just outside of Park Slope features table dining area as well as lower sitting area.  Runner and Stones interior was designed by Latent Productiosn and focuses on the synergy of prime materials coming together to be much more than their individual parts, mirroring the philosophy behind everything they make in the bakery and kitchen.  Flour sacks emptied during bread production were re-purposed as the frame work for nearly 1,000 custom fabricated, gently swollen concrete building units.  Each “Belly Block” is uniquely shaped, forming billowing walls of concrete throughout the space.

Runner Stone’s Menu features leans towards a Strong Italian, American feel, Main entree’s feature Braised lamb Breast served with Moroccan Spices, Glazed Carrot, Gremolata, Pancetta Wrapped Fish of the Day, Grilled Hanger Steaks.  Pasta offer the Red Cabbage Gnocci, Spaghetti alla Chitarra, Grana Arso Fettucini  is just some of the unique items found at the Runner and Stone.  Sandwiches have items like the Mackerel with Tomato and Shallots on a Baguette, Butternet Squash Fritter on a Roll and salads, soups and sweets fill the rest of the menu.
