Grand Opening: Luzzo’s in Brooklyn Heights

At 145 Atlantic Avenue, the cross-over from Cobble Hill & Brooklyn Heights opens up a brand new fine Italian Pizzeria Luzzo’s.  It’s a cozy unique environment with the main bar area being in the middle of the dining room to keep itself connected with every table in the establishment.   Luzzo’s menu features authentic Pizza, Italian Style items and appetizers.  The Antipasti includes some heart felt warm items such as the Polpettine which are Meatballs made with Beef, Pork and Spinach in Tomato Sauce.   The Arancini (Rice Balls), Pasticcio Del Pescatore (Baked eggplant with calamari, mozzarella and tomato sauce), Gambero Corallo (Fried Shrimp skewers wrapped in spaghetti) and other unique items such as Artichoke, Paprika Sauce Calamari and so on.

Salads or (Insalate) features a few choices but very unique salads served with various Arugula Leaves, Mixed Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Blue Cheese and more.  Le Pasta section features a variety of different pasta styles including Sauteed Shrimp, Anchovies, Garlic, Bread Crumbs, Parsley, Italian Sausage and Broccoli Rabe, Sauteed Zucchini and Provolone in White Wine Sauce.

Let’s get to the good part: PIZZA! or “Le Pizze” is made Italian Mozzarella in 12″ and 16″ priced respectively on the menu.  Bufala, Made with Mozzarella di Bufala D.O.P, Tomato Sauce and Basil, other Pizze items inclue Diavola, Piccante, Caprese, Mikele, Melenzana, Sorrentina, Aglietta, Funghi, Salsiccia, Nonna Luisa and of course the signature pie Luzzo’s BK made with Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, SPeck, Fresh Ricotta, Black Truffle Oil and Basil.
