Cheeburger of Staten Island is CLOSED

Please note this post is NOT 100% Confirmed – it is based on WhereYouEat visitor Suggestions and the Phone Line is Disconnected.

Staten Islands only famous Cheeburger Cheeburger which stood here since approximately July 2010 (Check out the Grand Opening post we did about 8 years back), has come to an end.  We are not sure if it’s temporary, going through an owner change or permanent.  But the phone number is disconnected, doesn’t seem like anyone has taken the business over.

Cheeburger has been known for the build your own Milk Shakes and Burgers. The concept was based on a 50’s diner theme and style.  The menu, was straight forward, on the burger side your options were to choose a size, select a bun, bread of wrap – top it with a bunch of optional sides and you were ready with your burger.

We’ll be monitoring this restaurant to see if it will re-open or what will be opening up at this location.  But a brief history, about 9 years ago, the owners of Buddha Lounge (the location that is currently known as Mr Ciao) in the same shopping plaza has decided to invest into a franchise.  At the time they have owned 3 other Staten Island hibachi restaurants including Mizu, Umi and Tomo, all businesses are still around today but under independent ownership.

Since that time Cheeburger Cheeburger has went through a few ownership changes and most ownership were in it as investors.
