A brand new Restaurant & Bar opens at the previous location of Tottenville Tavern. This time it’s featuring a full Tex-Mex / Mexican type of Cuisine and we got a complete look at the restaurant.

The location interior remains similar to that of previous restaurants, it’s a full bar along with options to eat at bar, surrounded by tables and the main dining room features a stage for live entertainment, which the restaurant will be hosting.
The food at Don Cesar seems to be Tex Mex with a few Mexican options. The menu is pretty long, the restaurant starts off with Appetizers such as Fajitas Nachos, Carnitas Nachos and Supreme Nachos. Dips include the Fresh Guacomole made fresh to order with Chunks of Avocado Mixed with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapenos, lime and garlic with salt.
Light Choices and Salads include options that are Grilled & Steamed, select any meat or protein such as Shrimp, Tilapia, Steak or Chicken served alongside with Steamy Vegetables and Black Beans for $13.99. Go for the Low Fat Quesadilla, Fajita Taco Salad, Beef or Chicken Taco Salad or the Azteca Salad made with Grilled Shrimp, Chicken and Mushrooms on a bed of lettuce, pico de gallo and avocado.
The standard Tex Mex plates are on, Enchiladas come in a few different options, Quesadillas and Burritos as well. The Don Cesar burrito is the signature dish and is a 10″ burrito stuffed with grilled chicken, Mexican sausage, rice, beans and topped with cheese and pico de gallo. Tacos are served more like dishes, with rice, pico de gallo and beans. Don Cesar is not a quick take out type of spot and the menu items are all served such as plates and platters. Meat dishes are available as well including the San Jose Special which is a Sizzling thinly sliced ribeye, chicken and shrimp dish served over a bed of sauteed onions with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream.
This new Tottenville restaurant also served Fish and Seafood, Vegetarian specials include items such as Bean Burritos, Cheese Enchiladas and Chalupas. Desserts are Home Made, the description for Flan reads that “No one makes flan like Don Ceasar, we start with a smooth blend of rich, creamy custard. then top it off with a coating of glazed caramel, served along with mango and fresh strawberries”. Other dessert options include Fried Ice Ceream, Xangos, Sopapilla and Churros.
