After Sister BBQ closed about 6 – 7 Months ago, Staten Island has lost it’s only Korean BBQ restaurant where the food is cooked at the table with a large selection of vegetables, pickled radish, steamed eggs and other side dishes.  This week MaDang opens at the same location at 330 Bradley Ave.

The restaurant features two rooms, one a main dining room for your Korean food and kitchen entree’s and another room dedicated to Korean BBQ with tables featuring burners built in.  The BBQ room has remained similar from Sister BBQ, the main dining room has been redesigned and updated.

Authentic Korean BBQ part of the menu features items such as Black Angus Beef for $30, Bulgogi, Thinly sliced beef rib eye for $23, Platter of Pork Belly, Pork Jowl and Pork Shoulder for $18.  Seafood items such as squid and shrimp which were served at Sister BBQ seem to be missing from this menu (hopefully it will arrive shortly).  Traditional Entrees are served with House Salad, Side Dishes, Fruit and Hot Ginger Tea, the price may seem a bit steep but it reads serves 2 to 3 people.  A La Carte items include the Bibimbab for $13 is a traditional Korean dish found at some restaurants, Assorted vegetables, seasoned ground beef and a sunny side egg served with spicy sauce or soy sauce over rice.  Bibimbab can also come in a hot stone pot.  Other dishes include Casserole, Spicy cod soup and various cutlets.
