South Shore Staten Island’s first Greek Restaurant opens it’s doors this week under the name Kuzina “Greek Kitchen”
It’s the owners 3rd restaurant location, 2nd on Staten Island and they have the recipes that people love, down just right. Kuzina brings different kind of food to the Huguenot Neighborhood, a full traditional Greek kitchen is serving some of hard to find traditional dishes such as the Yemista and the Kotopoulo Sto Fourno me patates, more on this later.
The Full Menu (located here) displays everything that was missing from this part of the island. Kebabs on a stick, Pita sandwiches, homemade Greek Style Pork Gyro’s, Bifteki Skewers, Signature Pita sandwiches and Burgers as well as salads. This restaurant is smaller than the original location but still has enough room to dine with 3 comfortable tables and open windows giving this place a very airy feel. It’s a place you feel comfortable stopping in for lunch as well as dinner during a stroll down Huguenot.
From the Signature sandwiches, we were lucky to try the Meditteranian Egg White Pita sandwich – It was Yummy, Egg whites on a whole wheat pita topped with Pesto Tzatziki, Baby Spinach, Roasted Tomato and Kefalogaviera cheese was scrumptious.
Weekly specials include items such as the Pastisio, the Greek favorite dish made with Baked layers of macaroni and ground beef in a light tomato sauce with herbs, spices and topped with a creamy bechamel. Other specials include the Yemista Stuffed Peppers, Shrimp Santorini.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Huguenot at the old spot of Burga, 895 Huguenot avenue. Free Delivery to the entire south shore is available, the restaurant serves towns from Annadale, Great Kills and Eltingville to Charleston, Tottenville and Princes Bay.
