Finally when it became warm for a few days, we were more welcomed to sit outside and enjoy the great views while having a meal to enjoy. Driving around Staten Island we noticed every restaurant off the Hylan Blvd Strip packed with diner’s outside. The seen was beautiful. Royale Crown recently (This Summer) has added many Palm looking trees to the outside, gives the patrons a bit of shade and making it look more up-scale. Pasticceria Bruno also invoked a full exterior packed outside as well as Salvatore of Soho, with there pretty unique dressed waitress taking orders outside brings back memories of the 60’s (Not that I was around back then). Another pizzeria (Ill Pomodoro), has now set up a few tables outside around the perimeter of the restaurant to also allow for outdoor dining, unfortunately on our drive we have not seen any one sitting outside yet as this may take some time getting used to.
A few restaurants situated around the water includes R.H Tuggs overlooking all the ferry boats and look toward the city as well as Rudy and Dean (Sit on top) has great view right next to the ferry. Around the other side of the island we have the “Very Controversial” South Fin Grill, which definitely has a supreme great view right on the boardwalk. Marina Cafe and Cole’s Dockside both next to the Mansion Marina in Great Kills offers fine dining with a seafood twist as well as Fiore Di Mare offering Italian Cuisine. Further down the island we have a beautiful restaurant that looks like toy land, Coral Bay Cafe offering a Seafood and Italian along with Carmen’s (5 Minute Away.. Driving) which has dining almost on the water and offers Spanish Food as well as Seafood. We also can’t forget to mention Angelina’s Restaurant which has a great view of the water outside, And hopefully by sometime “Fresca’s on the Bay” will re-open and we will be able to add another one to our list. (Sorry, we have not removed that restaurant to technical reasons).
We also have many restaurants that are situated throughout Staten Island and offering Outdoor Dining. Here is the list Sum-Up: We have Alor Cafe situated on Richmond Road along with Fushimi (Next door) and Filipos a few blocks away. Basilio right at the entrance of Staten Island (Coming from Brooklyn), Armory Inn located across from the Armory gives it sort of a “Armed” feel. We have a small pizzeria offering a few chairs outside which we added, Village Maria voted the best “Calamari, Authentic Slice” on Whereyoueat last year. Zest offers a very carefully and beautifully designed outdoor garden. Z-One, Big Nose Kate’s Lava Lounge are all Restaurant and Bars offering Outdoor Dining and drinks as well as Dugout Pub which is more of Sports Bar (After the game Barbeque’s Outside, Very Thoughtful). Almost forgot Sushi Excellent, They have a wonderful looking outdoor (upstairs) dining area overlooking New Dorp.
