New Vietnamese Restaurant Ran Viet opens in Grasmere / South Beach Hylan Blvd

Staten Island has been short of Vietnamese restaurants throughout our history.  With only Pho Rainbow to join Pho Mac in the past 5 years and most recently a few new pop up Vietnamese Quick Serve – Sandwich & Pho spots such as Banhmigos, Banh Mi Station, Banh Mi House to exist on Staten Island.

Ran Viet is another version of a quick serve establishment but with a more dine in feel.  The menu is short but focused, they don’t have the traditional lettuce wrap dishes (Tiny Rice Stick) or squid lemongrass and shrimp delight dishes.  But the Ran Viet does focus on producing a Pho Soup which they cook in house.

The menu starts with Pho, Beef broth, rice noodles, topped with scallions, onions, served with bean sprouts, basil leaves, jalapenos & lime on the side.  Special Beef Noodle Soup is the traditional soup served with all parts of the beef, Brisket, Omosa, Eye of Round (Tendon & Tripe missing from description).  Seafood noodle soup served with Shrimp, Squid, Clams, Mussels, Fried Onions & Veggies.

The rest of the menu features Vermicelli Dishes, Rice, Vietnamese Sandwiches.

We can label Ran Viet another quick serve focused menu.  But also wonder why can’t we have a full service Vietnamese to serve all the other traditional dishes we may be craving – on Staten Island?

We had an observation while the photography was going on for Uber Eats, and were able to snap some of those photos,

Ran Viet is open for Pick up, Dine in and Free Delivery when ordering direct by Phone at the moment.
