Trends move fast, first it was the Yogurt Shops, then the Acai Bowls, then the Poke Bowls and now we are in the Ramen Phase :). Sakai Ramen and Izakaya is a Ramen focused shoppe similar to Mizuumi not too far away.
The restaurant features a eat at bar area upon entrance (no liquor sold at the moment), and an open dining area with two and four person tables and a wood look with a Sakai Ramen logo featuring Japanese cartoon holding a Ramen bowl. Creates a unique experience and gives the place authenticity.
The menu starts with a few small plates, these are appetizers and include items such as Basil Popcorn Chicken, Chashu bun, hamachi kama, harumaki, gyoza, okonomiyaki fries, purple sweet potatoes, rock shrimp tempura, sakai wings and a few others Japanese favorites.
The Ramen is said to be served with daily made thin noodles and bone broth which has been cooked for at least 8 hours. The items include the Sakai Ramen (House Special) made with Pork and Chicken Broth, 2pcs pork chashu, 2 pcs chicken chasu, fish cake, 1/2 egg, scallion, mayu black garlic oil, corn, bamboo shoots, wood ear topped with nori. Shoyu Ramen is a soy based chicken broth, 3 pcs chicken chashu, fish cake, scallion and bamboo shoots. A Vegetable Ramen made with vegetable broth grilled tomato, corn, bamboo shoots, wood ear, enoki mushrooms, scallion, cabbage and tofu. Donburi rice bowl is not a ramen instead it is a Steamed rice topped with thinly sliced beef and onion, simmered in a sweet and savory sauce.
Patrons have the options to add additional toppings such as Corn, Pork Chashu, Enoki Mushroom, Shrimp, Grilled tomato, Egg, Rayu House Hot Sauce, Scallion, Menma, Wood Ear, Nori and Mayu to each Ramen.
Yakitori is a Japanese Grilling BBQ Style and a few menu items include Chicken Wings, Chicken Meatballs, Chicken Thais, Chicken Hearts, Chicken Gizzard. Yakitori Combos are available as well.
Sakai Ramen is also serving Milk Tea, Iced Teas and Bubble Teas.
The restaurant is currently offering eat in and take out only and plans to offer delivery at some point in the near future.
