St George neighborhood just got a new Juice Bar and Full Sri Lankan / American restaurant

Boulevard (BLVD) Cafe & Juice Bar opens it’s doors in the past week at the previous location of El Cholo (Peruvian) and more recently El Petra (Middle Eastern).  Armed with a new Fresh Concept and a full Sri Lankan kitchen as well as American Specialties, this restaurant seems more prepared to carve out a niche following for what they offer.

First and most importantly is Fresh Juice – large selection starting with Mango, Orange, Strawberry and Blueberry, to the Green made with Celery, Kale, Ginger, Cucumber and Green Apple.  The restaurant said to use full fresh cut fruit in all juices and the selection goes for $6 for 16oz, we got lucky to try the Pineapple and Apple – it was delicious, they use the Nutribullet to shake it up.  The menu features 36 items but they can make any mixture you may like.

The restaurant cafe part of the menu starts with a Taste of Sri Lanka menu for a complete dinner of $19.00 you get 3pcs Appetizer, or Soup, Lamprie and Dessert or Coffee.  You ask what a Lamprie is? “A special dish created by dutch who lived in Sri Lanka 600 years ago and it has been remaining since now and became a very special festival meal.  Specially cooked saffron rice mixed with Ghee Lamb or Beef or Chicken or Seafood.  Acccompanied with cashew curry, eggplant moju, seeni sambol, ash plantations, boiled egg and fish cutlet.  All wrapped in a banana leaf and baked. – Sounds Yummy!

This seems to be the only NON-HALAL Sri Lankan cuisine as it features Black Pork Curry – Pork cookedd with roasted Sri Lankan and curry powder accompanied with eggplant and other mixtures.   The restaurant of course features all other Sri Lankan specials such as Hoppers and Devilled Dishes, Briyani and Kotthu Roti.  This is the 4th Sri Lankin in the neighborhood, with Ceylon Curry, Dosa Garen and the restaurant on Corson Street.

Blvd Cafe also features an American Breakfast menu and weekly specials as well as Lassi, Fruit Cocktails and Shakes.

The restaurant is open 7 days from 7am (Breakfast) through 10pm.  Free Delivery as well as Dine in and Take out is available.
